Keswick and the Lake District offer a wide variety of attractions and activities for visitors. A variety of places can be easily reached within a day from Crow Park Hotel. The Western Lakes are well worth a visit and within 1½ hours you can see Wasdale, with the deepest lake in England and the smallest church. Then drive on to the Eskdale valley and have a ride on the narrow guage railway, the "Laal Ratty", one of Lakeland's most popular attractions. You can return via Hardknott Pass with its Roman Fort if you like a little adventure on one of the steepest roads in Britain!

Cockermouth is only 20 minutes away. It is a charming market town and is famous as the birthplace of William Wordsworth. The lovely valleys of Buttermere and Loweswater are a little farther on, where you can enjoy a picnic in beautiful surroundings.

The City of Carlisle is only 30 miles away, with a good variety of shops, or perhaps you could have a look around the Castle. The City has many Roman connections and a visit to the nearby Hadrian's Wall is a must!
